Senior Test Equipment Engineer

The Senior Equipment Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the test lab equipment along with all related devices including instruments, fixtures, controllers and gages are capable of meeting both internal and external requirements for testing. The engineer designs, enhances and maintains various electrical, computer or mechanical devices used within the lab.
Specifications: This position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of equipment specifications for all critical devices within the lab. In many cases, these specifications will be created and aligned globally in collaboration with other technical development locations. These specifications create or collaborate with product engineering in the development of product performance specifications. The Engineer must understand all customer test requirements/methods, identify any gaps and determine action(s) necessary to resolve.
Design: The position is responsible for the development and implementation of any test equipment, devise and/or fixtures required to conduct testing per requirements. The Engineer will leverage supporting resources including financial, purchasing, design and/or fabrication to accomplish this. The Engineer will lead an effort to efficiently standardise and globally align our design of these test devices.
Maintenance and Calibration: This position is responsible for the overall planning and execution of lab device maintenance, repairs, and calibration. The engineer will be required to manage the quoting through purchase order process and maintain log sheets for all devices tracking the status (including downtime).
Preventative Maintenance: Develop and manage budgets, schedules and execution for all lab devices.
Repairs: The engineer is required to lead all lab device repairs in the most cost effective/efficient method, leveraging both internal and external sources for these actions.
Calibration: Develop and manage budgets, schedules and execution for all lab devices.
Technical Expertise: This position will be required to understand and effectively manage electrical, pneumatic, environmental chamber, vibration, and hydraulic systems. The engineer will be required to understand and use various programming and controlling software tools that include; LabView, Ladder logic, Test works, Mueller BBM and Multi-elite. The engineer will be required to understand and use Engineering software that includes MathCAD, Minitab, AutoCAD, Catia, and/or NX.
Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Field preferred
5 to 10 Years suggested minimum experience in equipment and controls.
Engineering / technical degree or equivalent experience
Test lab experience (equipment, methods, instruments)
Post-test data interpretation and/or analysis experience.
Ability to work in a physical lab environment with parts and equipment.
