Senior Manager Purchasing

Job Description
As a Senior Manager, Procurement you will be responsible
for managing budgets, SG&A, department financials and managing key cross functional
projects supporting Regional Procurement Director. You will also be responsible for the
following:
- Manage and Lead Customer Business Unit (SDT) Buyers in sourcing
on time at or below cost targets and excellent launches per PRP and customer
timing/deliverable - Manage and Lead buying the team in annual Procurement Goals and Action-Plans to meet or exceed:
- Cost Savings, Economics mitigation, quality, supplier
performance, MBBP implementation, LCC %, MBE % and Post Launch Audits and other
identified objectives - Manage and Lead, motivate, support and develop employees
within the Procurement organization to become the “ready next” level - Enforce excellent SDT launches per PRP and customer timing/deliverables
- Procurement liaison into other functional areas such as
Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality, to support meeting or
exceeding all corporate goals - Guarantee continuity of direct production materials/components to ensure adequate supply
for YFAI operations - Manage and Lead supplier management activities: RFQ
(Request For Quote), change management, contract negotiations, payment queries,
dispute resolution, etc.
People Management:
Manage and develop a team of up to 5 individuals
- Support team development through mentoring, training and
projects to enhance product, process and procurement knowledge - Interact effectively with cross functional team - procurement,
program management, operations facilities, quality, engineering, costing, and
finance - Lead and deliver results to support cross functional
goals – launch on time, below cost targets, internal return rates, etc
Skills
- Automotive manufacturing, engineering, procurement,
Supply Chain Management (SCM) and/or costing - Problem solving to analyze and identify waste in supplier
process to drive cost reductions and process improvements
Contract Administration:
- Ability to analyze and execute contracts
- Understand key contract provisions and terms and
conditions - Understand Statement of Work requirements
Financial:
- Understand MBBP benchmark requirements
- Identify and understand key cost drivers
- Prepare and present cost analysis to support decision
making process - Work with Customer Business Units and Operations to
understand Total Cost impacts to the business to drive proper sourcing
decisions
Negotiations:
- Ability to gather information, analyze data, prepare for
and/or lead negotiations to ensure YFAI financial, quality, delivery, cost
savings and other corporate goals are met - Understand supplier performance, process, footprint
strategies in relation to YFAI operations in order to provide Best Cost
sourcing - Understand customer commercial and footprint strategies
in order to provide Best Cost sourcing
Other:
- Support annual Business Review process with strategic
suppliers to ensure supplier specific roadmaps are met - Drive improvements in the following areas in order to meet
or exceed planned goals: forecasted savings, continuous improvement, economics
mitigation, supplier quality performance, sub commodity strategies, LCC sourcing
content, payment terms, supplier T&Cs, and other strategic objectives - Support on site Supplier Readiness Reviews (SRR) and Launch
Readiness Reviews (LRR) - Support compliance with BOS, PRP, POS and SOX procedures
- Support advanced and operational Procurement activities
within a Commodity organization starting from phase 0-5 and over production lifetime
Your Qualifications
- 4 year degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or Business
Administration with a Master Degree desired - Min. 3-5 years within the automotive or related industry
with management experience - Supply Chain Management (SCM), operational and/or
strategic role experience - Strong costing knowledge
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Ability and interest to work and take a lead role in
cross functional teams - Ability to travel both regionally and globally as
necessary to support the specific project (varies by project) - CPM / CPSM Certification preferred
- In depth understanding of purchasing tools and practices
- PC knowledge (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Controlling and cost analysis knowledge
- Leadership skills
- Relevant SAP knowledge
