Senior Industrial Engineer

Job Description
The Senior Industrial Engineer is the
key link to providing technical support to plant IEs on standards layout,
direct & indirect labor and material flow.
He / She will provide technical expertise in standard labor analysis and
lean manufacturing. The Senior
Industrial Engineer role is a corporate role, with support of all plants in
NA. The Senior Industrial Engineer will
maintain key performance measurements to monitor and exceed department goals.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor plant
IEs & Technical Co-Op students - Provide technical
expertise in Lean principals & Lean Flow - Develop AutoCAD
standards, and monitor compliance to standards for plant layouts - Ensure accuracy
and alignment to standards, for Floor Space Planning and Layout, at each plant
within assigned region - Develop new facility
layout guidelines and standards - Support
Corporate Strategy with “What-if Analysis” and strategic layout studies - Approve Plan
for Every Part (PFEP) for each plant in region - Train each
plant and AME Team in PFEP usage – kaizen tool with Supply Chain Management - Develop material
handling guidelines and standards - Develop warehouse
racking guidelines and standards, including high-density vertical warehouses - Participation
in the design of new program packaging and line-side racking – ensure they
provide lean flow throughout the process - Define line-side
racking guidelines and standards - Develop internal
logistics processes using defined guidelines and standards - New program
Lean Flow reviews with AME, SCM, and Packaging Engineering for assigned
programs - Support time
Study, MODAPTS, line balancing, and Process Book training for AME and each
plant IE - Support SCM and
Operations with Flow Planner and Simulation analysis to define indirect labor
requirements and opportunities - Communication and
training on standards to all parts of the IE functional organization - Support key
initiatives and core projects as required
Your Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in
Engineering - Industrial preferred
Experience/Skills/Knowledge:
- Minimum of 7-10 years
of industry experience – automotive interiors experience desired - Working experience in
a manufacturing assembly facility – JIT manufacturing experience desired - Lean Certification
desired - MODapts certification
desired - Strong computer
skills required (MS Office, AutoCAD, etc.) - Strong Leadership and
Interpersonal skills – ability to work in a matrix organization and effectively
lead without direct positional authority is required - Strong communication,
presentation, and teamwork (verbal and documentation) skills – ability to write
clear and concise technical documentation is required - Flexible work &
travel schedules - plant visits are required
