Senior Engineer, Global Information Security

Job Description

The Senior Information Security Engineer is responsible for the IT Security Architecture and Engineering and acts as a trusted advisor to IT and the business for new and existing security technologies. This position provides technical strategy, direction, design, operation, service, and maintenance experience of a variety of information security systems. This individual ensures and assists with the proper deployment and management of solutions that support information security including SIEM, anti-virus, malware detection, intrusion detection and prevention systems, firewalls, active directory, advanced threat protection solutions and other security solutions. The Senior Information Security Engineer will identify, and evaluate and implement technical security controls to continuously improve the organization’s security posture.Main Responsibilities: • Plan and assist with the proper deployment and management of solutions and policies that support information security including SIEM, virus detection, malware detection, intrusion detection and prevention systems, next gen firewalls/IPS/IDS, and other security solutions, including working with internal Global Infrastructure and Regional IT and external 3rd party managed service providers• Apply knowledge of latest information security industry trends, technology tools and practices in a practical manner to support YFAI and YFAI Customer business information.• Identify evaluate and help to implement technical security controls to continuously improve the organization’s security posture.• Provide accurate and timely support of security tools, network-based security configurations, and appliances• Direct, Monitor/oversee or directly tune SIEM, endpoint threat protection, intrusion detection, or other information security technical controls such as Active Directory, Firewalls, O365, etc.• Provide input on security requirements to be included as a part of technology and service procurement activities• Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are reflected in the organization's vision and goals• Ensures that acquired or developed systems and architectures are consistent with the organization's security architecture guidelines• Apply knowledge of latest information security industry trends, technology tools and practices to define information security processes and standards• Define, develops, and manages information security management procedures, policies, standards, design, and support guidelines• Apply security practices to communication and host based environments• Supports information security compliance activities and drives improvements where needed.• Identify weak controls and communicate vulnerabilities to management• Apply understanding of OEM and Compliance standards to demonstrate compliance and subject matter expertise• Plan and conduct reviews to monitor and evaluate system conformance with organizational security policies, standards and guidelines• Communicate cross functionally to gain consensus - works diligently to build an understanding with balanced participation• Demonstrates strong problem solving skills - able to reason, think analytically and derive core concepts• Design and document executable steps to enable consistency and sustainable of actions, with a particular focus on enabling through automation• Communicate with and influence knowledge workers on the importance of security practices through marketing, education, and training platforms• Ability to develop, communicate, and coordinate project plans and projects. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and be a team leader and facilitate brainstorming sessions.• Evaluates vendor solutions against YFAI business requirements• Understands product lifecycles and provides input for long and short-term planning• Professionally exercises discretion and independent judgment in day-to-day work• Coordinating and Developing IT Security Standards, policy, and process• Work in collaboration with YFAI Global Infrastructure and Regional IT, lead/participate in development of security architectures, baselines and standards for each major type of infrastructure component (e.g., Network-Firewalls, Routers, Logging; Physical Servers, Virtual Servers, End-User Compute, Mobile, etc.)• Security project implementation consultation and/or execution- Antivirus, Data Loss protection, Network Access Control, Breach Recovery, and Disaster Recovery Planning

Your Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or
related field preferred. An advanced technical degree or other applicable
graduate degree (MBA) is highly desirable and/or equivalent security
certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA. CEH, GIAC, etc.)

Work Experience:

  • 8+ Years IT experience with 5+ years
    Information Security leadership experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in network
    security and security system administration,
  • 3+ years experience with Security
    Operations, Incident Response. Incident Remediation and Security Hardening
  • Understanding of information
    security threat intelligence and threat hunting trends and information
    sources
  • Excellent written and verbal
    communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills and the ability
    to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and
    non-technical audiences. Experience with Information Security standards
    frameworks such as ISO 2700X and SANS CSC for Information Security Governance,
    Controls and Risk Assessments.
  • Experience with Security Program,
    Technical Security Controls, Architecture and Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills to discover
    and analyze security requirements and relate them to appropriate security
    controls (technical, administrative and managerial) and security solution
    sets
  • Experience with Security Operations
    and Incident Response
  • Technical understanding of security
    tools and applications and their integration into data center operations and
    infrastructure
