Senior Buyer (Facility Management)

Job Description

The role of
Senior Buyer (Facility Management) is within the Central Indirect Purchasing
team based out of Bratislava. This role involves the purchasing of various
services for manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites across Europe. The
successful applicant will collaborate with numerous stakeholders to develop
Facilities Management requirements and lead procurement strategies that deliver
value for money and fit for purpose solutions. There will be a mixture of
tactical and strategic purchasing activities. 

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Lead the commodity by developing the overall commodity strategies and implementation plan aligned with company processes

  • Provide the subject matter expertise and internal consultancy for all Facility Management enquiries 

  • Implement strategies and actions to achieve year over year cost savings, rebates, credit notes

  • Develop and manage plant stakeholder’s relationships while ensuring business requirements are met

  • Pursue opportunities to consolidate spend and competitively source materials & services under local, regional and national contracts

  • Develop in-depth understanding of supplier cost drivers and total cost of procurement

  • Prepare and execute request for proposals (RFP), evaluate bid responses, negotiate contracts and service level agreements

  • Work closely with legal department to establish frame agreements

  • Improve working capital by negotiating optimum payment terms

  • Support purchasing and finance teams in resolution of supplier invoicing and payables issues

  • Support accurate and timely reporting of KPI – savings, rebates, cost avoidance, working capital,

  • Develop an effective supplier base by cultivating supplier relationships through reviews of operations and mutually beneficial programs

  • Identify best business practices and drive improvements together with plant stakeholders

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (masters preferred)
  • Minimum 4 years of purchasing or facility management environment – waste, security, cleaning, lightning, furniture, etc (automotive environment would be an advantage)

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience

  • Ability to set goals consistent with company objectives

  • Strong buying and negotiating expertise

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization

  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize to changing environment

  • Worked in an international environment with exposure to different cultures

  • Fluent in English is a must

  • Some travelling throughout Europe (plants, supplier visits) app. 15% of working time

  • Proficient with general office computer applications

  • Driving license
