Quality Engineer
Job Description
Job Summary
To provide technical knowledge of customer requirements and leadership
training to Quality Auditors. To ensure that all customer needs are met from a
quality manufacturing perspective - Customer concerns, rotational visits,
corporate/plant quality system, and proper PPAP hand off.

Responsibilities
·
Maintenance of all PPAP’s in production. Updates
to PPAP documents when required by engineering changes or from corrective
actions due to customer concerns.
·
Assist with the AQP process and documents prior
to launch.
·
This includes the plant manufacturing
disciplines in the PPAP requirements.
·
Assist in root cause analysis for corrective
action where applicable.
·
Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in
preparation and representation during all customer related quality audits and
surveys.
·
Support Quality Manager in customer relations.
This is to include visitations, problem resolution, and communication of
customer complaints.
·
Keep plant personnel informed of quality related
issues, as well as promote quality awareness throughout the manufacturing
facility.
·
Participate in on-site sample runs of prototype
and pre-launch product. Assist Advanced Quality Planning team in implementing
“normal production quality checks” at each build to promote product awareness
and knowledge exchange at each build.
·
Manage gage calibration system when assigned.
·
Maintain Engineering Approved Product
Authorization (EAPA) log at plant level when assigned.
·
Work with plant management teams to establish,
implement and monitor the Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with
BOS/TS16949.
·
Implement and monitor 100% containment of
discrepant material as identified by the customer and facilitate the appropriate
problem solving process until irreversible corrective action is in place.
·
Responsible for promoting a safe work
environment and preventing injuries through the use of, but not limited to, 5S,
job rotation, and ergonomic work practices.
·
Safety auditing, tracking of audit closure,
participating in incident reviews along with writing or assisting in the 8D
process and aiding in corrective action closure.
·
Communication of safety information as necessary
and participation in safety meetings and activities is also required.
Your Qualifications
Qualifications

Education / Experience
/ Skills
·
3 years minimum
experience in Quality Assurance.
·
College degree
desirable and/or equivalent experience.
·
ASQC certification as
CMI, CQT, CQA, CQE, CRE, and or CQM a plus.
·
Knowledge of MSA –
Training required (when responsible for Gage Calibration).
