Responsible for the management and operating
results of manufacturing plant on the off-shifts. Reviews and coordinates programs designed to
achieve budget limits, to improve cost-profit ratios, and to train production
personnel. Responsible for performance to objectives, product implementation,
material management, customer interface, customer satisfaction, continuous
improvement and total quality management.
Direct and coordinate the execution of manufacturing
operations and schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity;
measure performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Control quality,
cost of production and maintenance through department subordinates. Prepare
reports for management depicting plant performance to operating objectives. Responsible for plant production, financial
performance, meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and
productive operation of plant floor activities. Responsible for
compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Confers with department heads regarding availability of raw materials, product
quality control, related production records, labor and material costs and other
factors to keep operating costs at budgeted levels. Performs root cause
analysis and resolves production problems. Champion effective employee
relations and communications within the plant, while demonstrating a flexible
management style. Provide appropriate team feedback, and work with the management
team to instil a consensual environment that promotes both personal and
professional excellence. Enforce, promote, monitor and develop a safe work
environment ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws relating to
environment, health and safety, etc. Implement safety and quality policies and
standards and attain established goals. Assess and enforce corrective action
for non-compliance. Identify business improvement opportunities within the
organization. Recommend, support, and implement continuous process
improvements. Engage in continuous
learning and professional development to maintain current knowledge within the
field to meet required compliance and regulatory job requirements. Understands, supports, and contributes to
Quality (ISO/TS 16949), and Environmental Management (ISO14000) Systems by
following approved policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
Management preferred. 5+ years plant level experience in an automotive
environment with 3-5 years proven supervisory skills. Some experience
managing P&L responsibilities for manufacturing environment preferred. Detailed knowledge about Industrial
engineering, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement techniques. Working
knowledge of Labor and Human Resource laws. Team player familiar with goal
setting and achievement process. Excellent
trouble shooting & problem resolution ability. Must demonstrate
strong leadership and supervisory ability.
Must demonstrate strong verbal and written skills as well as the ability
to interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and
management. Strong ability to manage
time effectively along with strong organizational and presentation skills.
