Is responsible for and directs all plant activities within production. Is responsible for meeting production schedules and producing a product in accordance with Customer requirements, while maintaining optimal efficiencies and minimizing costs..
3.0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities
3.1 Directing and co-coordinating production according to quality and quantity specifications within cost objectives.
3.2 Oversee planning and implementation of production plans and manufacturing of products.
3.3 Lead the implementation of new manufacturing initiatives, including strategic resource allocation and applying good manufacturing principles, organization structure, leadership, sourcing and integration, production systems and techniques for improved efficiencies and adherence to best practice.
3.4 Providing strong leadership to the employees at the plants, ensuring high morale, team work and good employee relations, at all levels, including on the shop floor.
3.5 Ensuring all areas within the manufacturing area are properly staffed and coordinated to perform duties effectively.
3.6 Promoting the development of favorable employee relations to further the organization's production of quality goods.
3.7 Oversee all operations and logistics within manufacturing and maintain financial discipline.
3.8 Maintain a high quality consciousness.
3.9 Able to meet and subsequently exceed performance targets ensuring profitability of the individual manufacturing units.
3.10 Ensuring compliance to all group systems, guidelines & policies.
3.11 Supervise and provide technical guidance to subordinates.
3.13 In liaison with the Human Resource Department; appraise performance of subordinates.
3.14 Responsible for promoting a safe work environment and preventing injuries through the use of, but not limited to, 5S, job rotation, and ergonomic work practices. Safety auditing, tracking of audit closure, participating in incident reviews along with writing or assisting in the 8D process and aiding in corrective action closure. Communication of safety information as necessary and participation in safety meetings and activities is also required.
Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University; or minimum of seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven leadership experience in Automotive Manufacturing Facility
Union Experience a plus
Must be able to communicate to the customer and interface with all functional leaders
