The Idea person will: 

  • Facilitate cross-functional expert teams to drive breakthrough or Best-in-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow, and Cost.
  • Applies Six Sigma, Lean and KT tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve and control project processes.
  • Reports on project progress to process owners and other appropriate leadership levels at least on a monthly basis.
  • Converts gaps in BBP and other metrics into process improvement projects that deliver breakthrough results
  • Prepares a detailed project plan for each project including a project timeline and the deliverables at each phase of the project.
  • Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.
  • Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from process owners when needed.
  • Value Stream Analysis (Current and Future State Value Stream Mapping)
  • Collaborate with C.I. Manager to assess the Current state of the plant’s Operations; Develop Future State vision and implementation plan.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant C.I. Roadmap, bridging business metrics gaps with either:  1. Just Do It improvements, 2. Six Sigma projects, or 3. Lean Implementation projects.
  • Assist in locating Best-in-Class Operations processes, and then implementing them locally.
  • Support other C.I. initiatives, including best practice implementation, strategic initiatives that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems, and designing creative solutions that will continuously improve the plant.
  • Coach team members in understanding Six Sigma, Lean and KT principles
  • Identify and drive to implement model Lean lines/cells, and then extend to whole plant.
  •  Assist in the gathering of JCMS Assessment data.  Collaborate with C.I. Manager to improve Lean-relevant metrics, including those in the 6 panels.
  • Present, teach and deploy JCMS concepts, 30-Minute-Modules (JCMS Passport Series Training) and facilitate/Moderate Workshops toward JCMS implementation
  • All other tasks as assigned

 

 

Your Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or similar qualification. 
  • Five to ten years of relevant business experience
  • Effective leadership and program management skills. 
  • Initiative, the desire to rapidly drive change
  • Excellent communication skills, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Possesses basic statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects.
  • Has a solid understanding of JCMS concepts, 30-Minute-Modules (JCMS Passport Series Training) that will provide a good foundation for Lean Training.
  • Advanced computer skills (extensive experience with spreadsheet applications essential, CAD is also expected).
  • Ability to read English written documents/ Bi-lingual is a plus.

 

Certification requirements

  • Overall goal is to become JCI certified in three key process improvement tools (Six Sigma, Lean and Kepner Tregoe) within 18 months in this role.
  • Achieving certification in all three toolsets is necessary to ensure efficiency in application of the “right tool” for the right problem / process improvement.
